The most famous beach on the planet, Copacabana is synonymous with the heat and heart of Brazil.

Beach Location

Located right in the centre of Rio de Janeiro, Copacabana Beach is one of the most famous and popular beaches in the world with thousands of visitors flocking to it every year.

The beach stretches for 2.5 miles from Posto Dois (lifeguard watchtower Two) to Posto Seis (lifeguard watchtower Six).

Copacabana Beach has soft fine sand, cool waters and is considered by many as a Brazilian Manhattan.

The beach is lined with hotels, restaurants, bars, night clubs and residential buildings, as well as being a hive of activity both night and day.

Copacabana Beach is popular with volleyball enthusiasts and of course, like most beaches in Brazil, it is populated by numerous ball juggling Brazilian football nuts.

The beach plays host to millions of revellers during the annual New Year's Eve celebrations and has been the official venue of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup on numerous occasions.
