RE: Eleri Haf Cosslett - Internatio...

Hi I am also having lots of problems with Eleri who provides the worst service you can imagine and is also tied to developers in Cyprus who I have no doubt pay her well for getting buyers locked in.

You need to be careful because I am now trying to sell my property and Eleri now claims even more commission !

I would like to find a way to close down her business - any suggestions?

When I found this, I couldn't believe what I was reading. You surely can't be talking about the same woman.

I purchased a whole block of apartments in Cyprus from IPF and found the after sales service to be exemplary. Eleri has many clients and yet still finds time to return all my calls and answer all emails. I suggest you give her a call or send an email.

I also had problems selling the apartments on but after talking to her at length she came up with several creative ways to sell the apartments and once we agreed to go down the Bartercard route I had a buyer within a week. After the legals were sorted out Eleri then helped me cash convert these Bartercard pounds into sterling by transferring the profit into flats in Bournemouth. I made over £400,000 on this deal and without Eleri's help I don't believe this would have been possible.

If you make an investment, whether it is shares or property, you need to take ultimate responsibility for this. When selling shares you would pay fees to a broker - nobody complains too much about that. No business can survive by providing free service and I would want someone who helps me make a lot of money make some. That is fair, and I would rather pay for sound advice than get bad advice free.

There are no lock in agreements or ties to any developers. I don't know where you got that info from. If you want to, you can use another agent to sell the apartments for you instead of IPF. Try Harry! - he may find you a local buyer through his large Cypriot estate agency. I doubt anyone will provide this for free though. We are living in the real world - right?

But I would recommend you try calling her or emailing her to discuss your options. I think you will be very surprised at the results. At the end of the day, if you bought one of these apartments at Superior then you will have made a very good return. It is just a matter of time before you see it. In any case, I think the comments in this thread so far are not representative or constructive.

Good luck.

Hi Pat ,

I'm glad to hear that you have had a good experience, but you miss a few key points.

I would have welcomed the opportunity to call or e-mail IPF to discuss the situation and indeed have done so on numerous occasions, it has been the lack of response to that communication that had caused my frustration. Additionally, do you not think that it is not the agent's responsibility to keep me informed of the situation, especially where there are problems?

I have no issue with risk and have invested in a number of other properties (with other parties I hasten to add), so not a concept that I am ill at ease with. I am also of the mindset that expertise in a given field is well worth paying for. HOWEVER, with that financial commitment goes the responsibility of the agent of supporting me (the client) through the process and delivering on the end product.

Your final assertion that my purchase of a Superior Apartment will provide a good return, could not be further from the truth. After 18 months and a considerable amount of aggravation (none of which has been bourne by the agent), I have barely recovered my original outlay and have yet to pay the additional fees incurred from my solicitor in sorting the whole situation out.

You are entitled to your views and welcome to add them, however the comments posted here as a reflection of other individual's opinions and experience are equally valid. To discount them as unrepresentative is unreasonable.

Just as a fitting post script to this one. I have just been notified by the developer that they are pulling the development due to the delays and lack of building permissions.

It seems that the intention is to return the funds, but may be less International Property Finders fee!!!!!!!

I think that says everything you need to know..............

Stay away from Eleri Cosslet. As her tenant I can say from experience that you do NOT want to do business with her.
