Advise wanted...

Well I have spent some weeks reading through the threads posted on this, and several other forums and I'm well impressed with all the wisdom and advice generously thrown around the place; I am actually new to property investment, so if anyone can throw any advice/tips in my direction I would be grateful. I would appreciate links to useful companies and websites of interest.
Thanks

It all depends on what sort of thing you are looking for?

Capital growth or investment

Dear Barry

I was having a look on the Move Channel forums and came across your post.

Just wanted to pass on my experience in investing in property. When I first looked into purchasing a property for an investment I found the thought quite daunting, and looked round estate agents but the costs were just too high. I attended seminars on investing from some of the big boy companies like Inside Track, and Assetts but came away confused more than anything and felt like a number as apposed to a person.

Having done a little more research into areas around the country to invest in, I came across a Small to medium sized company in Brighton called Equity Properties.

Through various T.V programs and articles I have read, I’ve always know that investing along the south coast, especially Brighton was seen as a strong investment. So I contacted Equity Properties as they were a local company to Brighton to see if they had any opportunities. What I did find with them is that they were extremely interested in me, I found this extremely reassuring as other companies before had seem to neglect my personal needs. I got on with them really well and they made me feel extremely positive about investing in property and regularly stressed to me that I was a client for life and not just a quick deal. 1 year later I have 5 properties in my portfolio (they call it that) which have all been funded from my first one.

The first Deal was a 2 Bed apartment in Brighton which thy sourced for me for a 2% finders fee. It had 19% discount which was unheard of in the area and it didn’t take me long to snap it up because the package they arranged on it only cost me about 5k out of my pocket. Due to the high discount it wasn’t long before I was able to pull out a bit of money and purchase number 2. Equity properties helped me with all my research as they not only sold me property in Brighton but nationally aswell and put me into touch with letting agents and sorted all the mortgages out and everything.

I know that when I was looking to purchase property I was welcome to any piece of advice, and one bit of advice I can pass down as an investor to anybody looking to get into the property game or already is, would be to look into this little Company down on the South Coast. There website was www.equityproperties.co.uk and if you need any personal details about them I would be pleased to help you out.

Regards

B. Dawson
