All Two Bed Flats/Houses are Licens...

If you rent out a 2 bed plus house/flat in Hull you would do well to read Page 28 of this months NFRL's 'Successful Renting'.

BEWARE - While you were asleep last night you became a CRIMINAL;

The 2 bed house that nice boy and girl share? - Well your tenant's mate moved into the spare room - even though there are only 3 people in the house you became a CRIMINAL.

Hull Council feel that you should face criminal prosecution, a possible £20,000 fine, refund rent paid by these tenants, not be able to issue a Section 21 notice - oh and because you are convicted CRIMINAL you are not a 'fit and proper person' - so you will not be able to rent out certain properties anymore.

All those times that you were asked if you were a CRIMINAL - like filling in your motor insurance form? - Well get ready to admit it - you are now officially a crook.

I have licensed properties already in Hull and micro-manage my own properties - so I'm in too deep to get out - if you don't want the aggro please contact me - I've committed to a business that I can not afford to bail out on -

I'm still buying.

Herb is right, the law came in on 1 April 2006. But don't worry, licences are easy to obtain. You need to install doors that meets fire and safety standards, install smoke / fire detectors and get the man from the council round..... my experience... EASY.

I agree - it should be easy - but this is Hull Council that I have to deal with - The Nation's most 'landlord hostile council'.

Add £400 per property - and a load of aggro - and the fact that other councils don't license 2 bed, 2 storey houses and it does grate a bit.

This is my only business - i must be a a sucker for it as I am still buying - please keep details on file if you have Hull property to sell.
