The fact is that there are many places to buy a good investment property. Many places experience great growth and therefore great return on investment (ROI). What many people from Europe have forgotten about is the economic positions of the area they are buying in...specifically, what are the exchange rates in the region you are buying property? The United States has had (arguably) the most stable and viable economy over the past 100 years. You can be sure that any property will go up in value in the USA. Recently the exchange rate of the euro to the dollar has turned favorable for Europeans. You can get nearly twice as much for your money in the United States...investment property included. I would suggest talking to some developers in the US. I recently talked to some people at "Georgia Mountain Communities", a large builder in the south eastern USA, who is looking to deal exclusively with Europeans because of the exchange rate. You might want to give them a shot: GeorgiaMountainCommunities.com

Some more UK related info and stats from Channel 4's infamous Kirstie & Phil - Best & Worst places to live / invest. I imagine they'll be doing another updated show this year too. Worth a read with a pinch of salt...
