Buying property abroad

This is not an advert, but I would like to suggest that anyone who is thinking of buying property abroad set their videos (or watch if they can !) in the late afternoon for channel four's show, "In the sun". My husband and I are thinking of buying in Spain and it has been really interesting to see what you can get in all the different countries for various amounts of money.

Good grief. I watched this programme in absolute disgust, as lots of happy lucky people bought extremely nice new homes in beautiful surroundings, often with fantastic facilities and lots of rooms. For much less money than my one bedroom Fulham flat cost. Why am I living here???

They are showing some of what I assume to be the repeats at the moment, but it doesn't seem to go into much detail about the processes involved. Any ideas where I can find more information?

There are some quite good books available on Amazon. I actually found and bought one through this website - go to the homepage and click on the vital reading link halfway down on the right hand side. The book was called Buying a home in France, but there were quite a few others as well.

I agree with watching the programmes on TV - but bear in mind the programmes were filmed 6 months to a year ago, and the price changes between then and now are quite different!
