Forced relocation

i have lived in my council flat for twelve years with my dog. My council has now told me that i am to be rehoused, because my building is being knocked down. i don't really want to move, but i don't have a choice. Can i get any compensation for being forced to move? Can i ask for a bigger flat? The council say they won't give me anything bigger than the flat i have been living in, but i think this is unfair. Do i get any say in where i move to. The council have been very unhelpful and seem to think i am awkward and do't want to tallk to me. What shall i do?
