It depends what you are looking for ! You can find a nice apartment near the coast and transport in almost all of Spain for that kind of price. In many areas you can find a villa. In some areas, you can find a big villa. You can maybe think about the costa del sol or the costa blanca - they are both reachable by commercial airlines and both have a lovely climate!

Moving to Spain (in reply to ollie

Hello Ollie,
My wife and I are also venturing down to Spain to live. We went n a scouting trip to Malaga in Costa del Sol the other week. With the amount you have available you should find what you want. My advice as a novice and layman is to locate a city and follow the road and rail routes out until you reach an affordable area. Research the area thoroughly and vist. The latter is very important as a lot of properties seem very appealing and affordable on the the net but in reality they are situated in a very unde
sirable area. We saw a idyllic villa well within budget but what the picture did not show was that the villa was ona flight path to Malaga airport. We are in the process of selling our house in England and we are going to drive down to Spain and rent until such time as we see our dream home but we do have one in mind so the rental might not be too long if at all. Sorry about rambling and good luck in your quest.
Keith

Is your total spend 100,000GBP? Closing costs are normally 10% of the purchase price so buying a 100,000 house will actually cost you 110,000.

Do you want new or resale?

We have some properties within your price range, these can be viewed on our web site. We are also opening a new office in Almeria, which does have it's own airport, however these will only be new builds and are apartments rather than villas.

Feel free to contact us if you need any assistance.

have you considered the costa de la luz area. It's a fantastic area which is pretty overlooked. Visit my website for an insight into the area.

You can find some bargains with villaangels.com - they hold regular property auctions on the Northern Costa Blanca. They are also affiliated with Citizens Advice so you can rest assured you are not dealing with sharks! I was at their last auction in Javea and they really did have some bargains! Good luck!

RE: Moving to Spain (in reply to ollie

There are numerous sites out there such as www.private-property-4sale.com. This site is very new, but then again it's free to advertise, if you want a more established site google it.

Spanish estate agents for example, often charge between 6-10% on top of the asking price. If you sell privately you could save €1'000's literally. This also allows sellers to sell their properties at much lower prices, which obviously attracts buyers keen eyes!

Is it safe?

Yes. It's exactly the same as using an agent, only, via sites like this you find your own private property. Once you have found a buyer the process is exactly the same.

To arrange viewings peolpe are normally flexable and quite often if they don't live there permantely then they leave a set of keyes with someone there, who, with a small bride, is often willing to show people around... as long as they don't have to do it very often.

I say it's worth a go, especially if it's free! Click here to sell your property for free!

You haven't specified an exact location or area. It will make a big difference depending on whether you are located on the coast or slightly inland. Also what exactly are you looking for, i.e. property size, bedrooms, land etc.

We have some very reasonably priced inland properties on our site at the moment. Located only 7minutes from Marbella and one of the Costa del Sol's largest shopping centres this beautiful Spanish Village could be what you are looking for.

Please visit us and if you have any questions please don't hesitate to ask.

RE: Moving to Spain (in reply to ollie

We moved to an excellent village about 40Km inland from Malaga. It's is a prosperous village, with about 5,500 residents and growing and with a good number of British ex-pats (about 500). For personal reasons, selling current house (just too big - need smaller property also in village) so if interested, check our private website:
http://www.photosnowdonia.co.uk/SPAIN-HOUSE-SALE/ with photos.
With nearby new golf course under construction and easy access to both Granada and Malaga airports (less than 1 hour to each) and with good public transport - you will, like us, love it! Only "discovered" it by accident and immediately decided was the right place for us. The natives are very friendly and local town hall (Ayuntamiento) has some English speakers. Schools, Medical Centre, etc. and lots of bars/restaurantes, shops, etc.
