Newbie looking for help

Hi.

I'm wanting to get started in real estate investing.Since I'm new to all this,I'd like to find a mentor,an experienced investor I could work with and learn from.
I'm living in London.

Any info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi

Depends if you are looking to be a regular investor, or to go down the BMV (Below Market Value) route. We are passing on lots of info via our site newsletter if you are interested in learning more on both routes, or you could grab a copy of the new BTL guide available from the link below completely free of charge.

Regards

Jason

Hi
I suggest first thing, that you read as much as possible about investing.

There is a free course from Carlton Johnson about BTL you could start there. He also has a very good book at a very reasonable price, which will tell you as much (and more!) than many of the seminars out there, costing thousands of pounds.
Go to the following site, to subscribe to the free course and buy the book
ukpropertysuccessinfo.com

If you do a google search you will find many property 'gurus' out there, but be careful, some have never practiced what they preach.

Regards

Yes, you need to do some learning, and there's plenty you can learn from books and property forums without spending very much money.

Then, before you ask for help consider what you can offer an experienced investor e.g. looking out for a certain type of deal for him/her. You'll be more likely to get a positive response.

Chris

Hi,

We can help you.

We specialise in sourcing properties in the North East of England, finding tenants and then managing the tenancies. We're investors ourselves so we have a lot of experience. We are a business so we do charge for our services but we are happy to help new investors with free advice (and no sales pitch) whether they use our service or not. First you might want to take a look at our website

investinbuytolet.co.uk

We also send out regular free updates showing good BTL deals that illustrate how the numbers stack up as well as giving you a little bit about the areas they are in.

Get in touch by sending me an email (please make reference to this posting) and then perhaps we can talk.

Hi there,

I have to echo the sentiment of 'do your research', and lots of it! There are all sorts of resources out there - on the net, books, seminars etc. We also run a free newsletter which you may find of use too - see the website address below. One of the best ways to get clued up is to talk to people already making a successful living out of property investment - We hold regular 2 hour workshops all over the UK, and they are FREE! Whilst they serve as an introduction to the paid seminars, they offer many useful nuggets of information, a general overview of the industry, and a valuable chance to chat to successful investors. Come along to one, there's no obligation to take it further so what's to lose... Good luck :)

Hi Alpha Lon

Just wanted to wish you luck in the business, and would advise checking the credentials of any company who you deal with.

Ask a few questions including:

how long have they been around?
What do they do for you?
Do they offer property investment advice?
Do they offer any incentives?
Will they tell you when to take your equity out of a house etc.

Bex

You would also do well to read the contents of www.landlordzone.co.uk/forums and the property section of www.singingpig.co.uk which has a section for inexperienced investors to ask questions.

P.P.

Hi

I know The Money Centre runs free buy to let mortgage & property investment workshops around the country. I went to the one in oxford and learned a lot (good to meet people in the same boat too) also no hard sell - worth a look

Nick
