bridging loan

hi everybody,thisis my first post on this forum hope all are well.
I hope somebody out there can advise me on this topic of a bridging loan,story being i have been offered a property at 140k approx 10k work to bring it up to scratch comparrables ron at 180k sell for around175k.
Upon visiting my accountant today he suggested possibly looking at a bridging loan taking into account time scale of loan to mortgage and financial situation at the moment.
What are the main differences ie cost,payments etc.accountant was telling me about a client of his who was offered a house for 30k womans hubby in prison so she just wanted shut and cash the house was worth 90k so he purchased with a bridging loan(lucky git hey could all do with acouple of them).
