CONCRETE HOUSE

Hi, I am trying to sell my ex-council house which is concrete construction. It's a solid conclad type and is the modern version. Unlike the older ones which had real problems. However, it seems everyone is put off by it. When I bought the house 11 years ago, I thought of it as more solid than brick ever is. How can I convince prospective buyers who seem to think there's some kind of stigma attached? (the positive side of things is that it's a lovely house in a lovely area, next to a country park)

Hope someone can help?

Hi there

I think you'll find they cant get a mortgage, and thats why they are steering clear.
My understanding of concrete is that over a period of many years it expands & and can crack.
The only mortgage company I knew who would cover them was Halifax .. but that was 20 years ago & they may not cover it now.

If you reduced the price enough for an investor to concider buying it (ie 15% below market value) you could get a cash sale on it.

good luck
