Description of Franche-comte
ccupying a strategic and enviable plot within a stone's throw of Austria and Germany, it's fair to say that what Franche Comté lacks in size it more than makes up for in charm and character. Almost half of the entire landscape is covered with dense forests and there are three Unesco World Heritage sites within the region's confines. Incredibly cultural, deeply historic and bursting with more outdoor pursuits than a dozen comparable regions, Franche Comté is something of a mecca for those with a taste for the great outdoors. As is the case across so many French regions, turning a Franche Comté property into a serious revenue stream can be difficult to say the least. Rent yields tend to be low, property prices have struggled over recent years and demand from international tourist groups isn't nearly as high or reliable as in some of the France's other key regions.
