The Indian Property Show lands in London this weekend, as the country continues to encourage growing foreign investment.
Foreign direct investment in India increased 27 per cent in 2014-2015 to USD 30.93 billion, according to Anuj Puri, Chairman and Country Head at JLL India. Economic growth also increased 7.4 per cent in the second quarter of the financial year, Puri reported at the end of 2015.
While the country’s residential market has not yet seen rapid growth, the market “seems to have bottomed out”, said Puri, with sales picking up in cities such as Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore.
“Developers’ initiatives like offering attractive schemes and deal terms, coupled with lowering of interest rates by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), have activated fence-sitters,” explained Puri.
