Brits buying more holiday homes than in 2006, says Savills

Holiday home buys by Brits have increased by around 50,000 from 2006 to 2010 according to a new report by property consultancy Savills.

The survey, jointly produced by Savills and lettings website homeandaway.co.uk, said that whereas some 385,000 British citizens owned holiday homes in 2006, 430,000 were recorded in 2010.

“It’s even more surprising because some previous owners will have sold in the interim,” said Rebecca Gill, the report author. “The net increase means there has been a sizable number of Britons buying since 2006.”
