Jennifer Lawrence won the Best Actress award at the Golden Globes last night.
The lead heroine of Silver Linings Playbook accepted the gong at the star-studded ceremony in Los Angeles last night in typically humble fashion – but it turns out her home security system is equally award-worthy. Recently, she almost shot an intruder with a bow and arrow.
Before her Golden Globe-winning performance, Lawrence shot to worldwide fame as Katniss Everdeen in the first film adaptation of the popular novel series The Hunger Games. Katniss, no slouch with a bow and arrow herself, has obviously seen her hunting skills rub off on the 22 year old actress.
Speaking to Vanity Fair , she explains:
"One time I actually used it for defense. I pulled into my garage and I heard men in my house. And I was like, ‘I'm not letting them take my stuff.'"
"I had just gotten back from training," she explained, "so I had the bow and arrows in the back of my car. I went to my car and I put this quiver on me and I had my bow and I loaded it and I'm walking up the stairs.
"And I look, and my patio doors were open, and there were guys working right there, and I was like, ‘Heyyy, how you doin'?'""
Her friends joked about it afterwards, telling her: "We've got to stage someone to break into your house and you can kill them!' That would be the funniest news ever. Katniss Everdeen actually kills someone with a bow and arrow!"
The actress famously still lives in her parents' condo in LA, despite being paid millions of dollars.
When asked by Elle about splashing out on a piece of real estate in December, she replied : "I've always lived in a tiny rat-infested apartment in New York, or a little condo in L.A., or a normal house in Kentucky. I think it would be very bizarre to live in a big mansion by myself."
