Western Europe’s tallest residential tower is coming soon to London.
Called Spire London, the tower will be launched in October by Greenland Group, The Chinese developer will be spending around £800 million on the project, which will carve a space 771 feet high in the docklands’ sky, making it both the tallest residential tower in the UK and Western Europe.
The building will stretch 67 storeys off the ground, housing 861 luxury apartments, which will be launched to the public on Thursday 13th October in Warehouse Number on Hertsmere Road – directly next to the construction site.
Work has already begun on the tower, with completion scheduled for 2020. Once finished, the apartments will occupy the eighty to 66th floors, offering residents large living areas, open-plan kitchens, hotel-style bathrooms and penthouses that have the opportunity to use the outside space as private roof terrace.
The units will have the highest views of any apartment in the capital, but buyers won’t have to wait to enjoy them: there will be nine passenger lifts with a wait time of just 30 to 35 seconds – and a travelling speed of more than 6m/s.
Prices will start from £595,000, with CBRE and JLL both handling international sales.
Yuliang ZHANG, Chairman and President of Greenland Group says: “Spire London will create a new iconic landmark on the London skyline. This tower will be Western Europe’s tallest residential building and underlines London’s enduring status as a world-class city and destination.”
The launch marks the resilience of London’s property market, in the wake of the UK’s Brexit vote. Indeed, Greenland describe the development as their “most important project in Europe”.
Wenhao Qian, Managing Director of Greenland (UK) Investment Ltd, says that the group still has confidence in both the capital’s economy and property, anticipating strong international demand from investors.
“We believe that there is always a demand for ‘best in class’ property assets that offer a high quality, bespoke, designed and unique product in a prime location. In our view, Spire London fulfils these criteria, and we believe there will be significant demand for the apartments within this tower from both the UK and overseas,” says Qian.
Matthew Leitch, Senior Director at CBRE, concludes: “With its record breaking height, unrivalled views and dynamic architecture, Spire London is distinctly different to any other project being launched in Docklands. It stands apart from the current competition and we believe will attract buyer interest from both end-user and investor buyers from the UK and overseas.”Google+
