The former house of the late Zsa Zsa Gabor is now for sale – and the pad is as glamorous as her reputation would suggest.
The Hollywood star is as famous for her off-screen personality as her on-screen roles, with the actress having no fewer than nine husbands, with her old flames ranging from Conrad Hilton to actor George Sanders. She passed away at her Los Angeles home earlier his month at the characteristically larger-than-life age of 99.
Now, one of her former homes has come on to the market. The Palm Springs pad, which dates from 1958, spans 1,784 square feet and boasts two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The Californian abode is surprisingly understated, but there is a fitting elegance to the home, from its stone fireplace to its kidney-shaped pool and a wall of sliding glass doors looking out at the mountain landscape.
“This home allows one to feel a part of their landscape with views in every direction,” reads the description on the property’s listing. “The simplicity of form and walls of glass allow the natural landscape to take center stage. The ultimate getaway for the single person or couple this property has one bedroom in the main house and a fully detached casita that functions as the perfect visitor lodging or even studio for those creatively inclined. This is a cool house for someone who likes the idea of hiding away in the hillside while still being close to all Palm Springs has to offer.”
“I am a marvelous housekeeper. Every time I leave a man, I keep his house,” she once quipped, and it’s easy to understand why she held on to this one.
The home has an asking price of $969,000. Its eventual new buyer can only hope to have such style and good taste as its former owner.Google+
