One of the most stable democracies and not far from the strongest economy of any African country, Mauritius is a bewilderingly beautiful island that holds great potential for international investors. Rent yields are generally mid-range at about the 6 per cent mark, though it’s worth noting that the law dictates owners cannot increase the rental price of their properties for the first three years of a tenant moving in. The standard of living in Mauritius is exceptionally high by African standards and exclusive tourism represents the bulk of the nation’s economy.
