If you fancy picking up some DIY, gardening or cooking tips, visit Grand Designs Live at the NEC in Birmingham on Friday October 10^th to Sunday October 12^th....

A host of features will be available for visitors at the event, including Face Fabric, which shows you how to transform old furniture into unique and stylish pieces of furniture.

There are also traditional build technique workshops, in which visitors can get stuck in and take part in workshops on ancient building techniques.

There will be celebrity chef kitchens, where top chefs will show visitors how to whip up some delicious grub in beautifully designed kitchens.

Grand Designs will be exhibiting houses of the future and displaying domestic gadgets and gizmos that aren't even available yet.

You can also visit the flower domes - the Eden project-style flower markets - and search for some great bargains for your garden.
