Investors eye 'breathtaking' Biarritz

Situated in the south-west of France on the Atlantic coast, Biarritz is a luxurious seaside resort which has been popular with both tourists and surfers for many years.

Adjacent to Bayonne and only 30km from the Spanish border this seaside town has traditionally been a place where British and French families have come to for years.

Rather surprisingly, Biarritz is a comparatively unknown and unpublicised region of France. However, for those who do know the area, it is a firm favourite.

Beautiful beaches

Biarritz boasts some of the best beaches in Europe including the classic - Le Grand Plage and the most fashionable - Miramar Beach. The town is also a stop on the world surfing tour.

Traditionally a whaling and fishing port, Biarritz transformed itself into a fashionable resort in the 18th Century when Comtesse de Montijo of Spain spent two lazy holidays there.

Kings and queens and stars of the silver screen followed suit and Biarritz transformed itself into the fashionable, stylish destination that it is today.

More relaxed and discreet than its Côte d'Azur equivalent, Biarritz combines magnificent beaches with breathtaking scenery and something to keep every age group occupied.
