Catherine Deshayes
The late financier Sir James Goldsmith would be proud of the property
prowess of his youngest daughter, Jemima Khan...
Two-and-a-half years ago she paid £18 million for a Grade II listed six-bedroom
Chelsea mansion designed by the cult Thirties architect Oliver Hill.
Jemima then spent an estimated £2.5 million restoring it and
doubling its size, only to receive an unexpected £35 million offer, which fell
through four days before exchange of contracts.
Undeterred, she has now put it back on the market at £40 million through Aylesford. "Jemima fell in love with its
amazing Art Deco interior, the size of the rooms and its huge garden," reports
a neighbour. "She originally planned to live there with her two sons, Suleiman
and Kasim, but everything has its price!"
