Sharm el Sheikh 'flying high'

Wednesday, June 18, 2008

Low-cost airline Jet2 has announced a series of new direct flights to Egypt...

The flights from Leeds Bradford International Airport to the sunny resort of Sharm el Sheikh are scheduled to begin next year. This new development could be good news for those who own investment property in Egypt. With its warm climate, ample history and beautiful coral reefs, this fascinating country will now be even more accessible to British tourist and prospective investors.

The area will be of particular interest to sun-lovers as it maintains its hot weather throughout the year, meaning people buying holiday property in Sharm el Sheikh have the potential to rent it out for all 12 months of the year.

Mandy Round, general manager of Jet2holidays, said: "Sharm el Sheikh is proving to be an increasingly popular destination for UK holidaymakers who flock there for guaranteed year-round sunshine and the spectacular sites and scenery.

Egypt's government has been working hard to attract more investors and was recently recognised by the World Bank for its efforts in reforming trade and financial regulations.
