Croatian Minister of Tourism Damir Bajs has said that 2010 will likely be the year of "last-minute" tourism.

Taking part in Monday's session of the Croatian tourist board, HTZ, Bajs also said he believed marinas and campsites would do better than hotels this year, the Croatian Times reported.

Germany is still the most important market for Croatia, he said, and most marketing will be directed toward that market.

The HTZ will allocate 130 million kunas [€18 million] for joint marketing activities, an increase of 6.4 million kunas [€881,000] on 2009.

Bajs said he was aware that Croatia's competition, which includes countries such as Greece, France, Portugal and Spain, will do all in their power to hold onto business this year, meaning Croatia needs to do even more.
