Property in Turkey is becoming sought after by international investors at the moment, and, in a further boost to the country's emerging market, Istanbul will host Turkey's first international property and architecture exhibition.
The ArkiPARC 2008 Exhibition, which will feature some of the worlds leading property and planning professionals, will be held at the Harbiye Istanbul on 15th to 17th October.
It is hoped that the event will place Turkey firmly on the mainstream property map, as it is the first time that many organisations will have been represented in Turkey. The European Public Real Estate Association, USA based Portman Holdings and others from Holland, the UK and the USA will be present.
On the last night, the ArkiPARC Awards' Award Ceremony will be held, which has awards in three categories - real estate, architecture and construction.
Real Estate Award
The real estate award covers residential, office, hotel, shopping centre, alternative investments and mixed use projects whose construction has been completed in Turkey in the last five years.
It aims to evaluate the gains of the real estate investments to the city,
the citizens and the investor in a joint project.
Client's Award and Young Architect's
Award
The Client's Award will be given in the two categories of the public and the private
sector. The award aims to honour clients who have supported the production of
quality architectural applications whilst taking into account the public responsibilities
of the architect.
The Young Architect's Award is for young architects under the age of 40.
RAF Award
The RAF Award will be given for products that have made an important
contribution to architectural projects and that have a sales network within Turkey. The aim
of the award is to honour performance, the characteristics of the materials
used in production, conformity to standards, resilience over time and to the
conditions of the external environment, and the producers of construction
materials that add value to the physical environment with environmental effect.
ArkiPARC Awards Award Designs by World
Famous Designers
The ArkiPARC Awards, which will be given in a total of 11 categories, will also be acclaimed for the design of the awards. The awards, which will be designed by a different designer every year, have been designed by this year's designer, Tanju Özelgin.
The designer of the 2009 award will be announced at the 2008 award ceremony.
