According
to Next Step Australia, it's crunch time for
many Britons, who are hoping to escape the credit crisis. Record numbers of
people living in London are choosing to emigrate
and are heading overseas sparking a sharp rise in the number of emigration
inquiries to Australia,
which is expected to receive 25,000 emigration applications from Britons this
year...
Australia is the number one choice to relocate to from London. Some people are looking for a cheaper cost of living, while others are looking to leave the cold weather behind in favor a sunnier climate. There are several communities in the major cities of Australia, such as Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane that are dominated by fellow expatriates. This presents an environment that is appealing for newcomers.
With easier immigration laws now in effect in Australia, it is easier to immigrate into the country if you are an English speaking individual who possesses a sought after skill set. This makes it a prime target for those looking to leave behind London in search of better career opportunities, due to a shortage of skilled labour in Australia.
This news ties up with recent results from a survey conducted by Manpower. According to Manpower, the country is an attractive option for the 53 per cent of Britons who would consider working overseas. "Today's labour market has a constant circulation of workers - out of the UK as well as into the country."
This comes after Paul Arthur of The Emigration Group revealed that Australia is proving to be very popular with skilled professionals such as doctors and architects.
Speaking to the Western Mail, he said The Australian economy "booming" which has made it an appealing destination for those who wish to progress in their career.
Commenting on the survey results overseas property expert, Chintan Mahida from Nubricks.com said, "Those who cannot afford to live in London are immigrating to other countries like Australia to start afresh. Some choose to emigrate because of tension caused by political issues or general disapproval of current public policy. Others emigrate to Australia to experience a more laid-back environment, where they can improve their quality of life."
For those that are tired of cold winters and non-existent summers in London, Londoners are heading to Australia to invest in property in a warm climate and near the beach. As greater numbers of UK citizens make the decision to immigrate to Australia to take advantage of career opportunities and a better climate, the Australian economy is only set to benefit growing in strength from an influx of highly skilled labour, which should make purchasing an investment property in Australia is a solid long-term decision.
