George Clooney has strongly denied rumours that he is selling his luxury Italian home.

Rumor had it that Oscar-nominated actor would sell his sumptuous pad in Lake Como to David and Victoria Beckham in a bid escape the constant attention of the Italian Paparazzi. Clooney's next apparent? Another home on the lake's Loreto Island.

It was a juicy rumour that spread like wildfire across the net, but Clooney himself has stepped-in to keep the gossip-mongers at bay. He said:

"To complete the news cycle: I am not buying an island and am not selling my house in Italy. The story was made up, then picked up and now denied. End of another riveting day of false news.
