- Property For Sale
Say the words "Elvis Presley" and "property" and one place springs to mind: Graceland. Over in Palm Springs, though, a different former property of the singer's has been put up for sale. This is Elvis Presley's other home...Today’s other Celebrity Homes news:
The house in question was built in 1946 and snapped up by the Presley family in 1970. The four-bedroom property was dubbed Graceland West by its former owner Reno Fontana in 2003, when he picked up the pad for $1.25 million. The 5,000 square-foot home, though, is a far cry from the iconic estate, although the listing includes photos featuring cardboard cutouts of the King of Rock'n'roll.
The home was, Curbed reports, opened up for Michael Jackson fans to hold a memorial service for Presley's royal associate, the King of Pop.
Despite such events, claims that the home can produce an income of up to $5,000 per night seem a little fat-fetched, with the bank foreclosing on Fontana, only for its new owner to fall victim to repossession too.
Perhaps this is one estate that it is not worth getting all shook up about after all.
Inside Patrick Dempsey's McDreamy Malibu home
Patrick Dempsey and his wife Jillian snapped up a Malibu home five years ago. Designed by Frank Gehry, the property was home to a pair of spa entrepreneurs before the movie and former Grey's Anatomy star.
Since then, though, the couple have redecorated significatnly, turning the once-experimental building into a warm family home.
"We were looking for a little land and space, and a house with some architectural significance," Dempsey tells Architectural Digest. "The exterior’s simplicity appealed to me, and the inside felt very expansive and calming. Everywhere you looked there was something visually pleasing."
The couple share their home with three children, a bunch of chickens, rabbits, goats, pigs, miniature donkeys, three dogs and an African tortoise. Oh yes, this home is McDreamy, all right.
