The Town of Los Silos has one of the prettiest Squares in the North of Tenerife, with traditional cobble stones, bandstand, bar etc. and many Fiestas are held there. Close to the square are some 'typical Spanish' café's and lots of interesting shops to browse through. The Town Hall provides many classes in the local College for foreigners, including 'Spanish for foreigner's, 'Computer Tuition', 'Salsa Dance Classes', and 'Craft Classes' to name but a few. The local schools and colleges have a very high standard of education for all ages and many foreign students attend them.

Los Silos is a very popular area for ramblers who enjoy the abundant flora and fauna throughout the spectacular natural trails in the hills above the town. A 2 minute walk from the house brings you to the, rustic style, Hotel Luz del Mar with Health Spa, 1st class restaurant etc. The Municipal Olympic, sea water, swimming pool (5 minute walk) has various restaurants and is on the sea front. A harbour is now being constructed for all the water sports that are available there.

There are many local restaurants serving good quality meals at a very reasonable cost. A 7 minute drive will take you to the Golf Course in Buenavista, designed and partly owned by Severiano "Seve" Ballesteros, with beautiful landscaping rolling towards the sea. Puerto de la Cruz is a 30 minute drive away and is quite cosmopolitan, full of good restaurants, bars, shops, modern shopping complexes and art galleries, plus dancing clubs and discothèques for a fun night on the Town.
