The plot is located on the northern outskirts of the town of Vienne, which is itself a 40 minute drive south of Lyon, France's second biggest city. The plot is set back from the road (not a busy road anyway) and enjoys views over Vienne and the Rhone Valley. Lyon's international airport (with frequent flights to and from the UK with British Airways, Air France and Easyjet) is only a 35 minute drive away thanks to a new motorway. Planning permission for a 3/4 bedroom may be obtained. Beside being a very pleasant spot in itself, any house built on that plot would be an ideal base from which to explore the immediate area: Vienne and its Roman theatre where a jazz festival is held each summer, the Rhone Valley and its wines - Condrieu and Saint Joseph are close by, and of course, France's food capital, Lyon. Beside these local attractions, Paris is only a 2 hour train journey away from Lyon and a two hour drive from the house will take you either to Grenoble and the Alps (east) or Provence (south).
