The Autodromo Internacional do Algarve is a 4.629km (2.915 mile) race circuit in Portimao. Estimated to attract an additional 1 million visitors to the Algarve, the circuit enjoys a unique design thanks to the natural terrain of the area; curves and straights follow each other at an exciting rythmn with accentuated declines.



Launced with the World Superbike Championship in November 2008, the Autodromo Internacional do Algarve represents a Eur 250 million investment with more planned. The circuit was approved by the FIA for Formula 1 and by the FIM for Superbikes. The total capacity of the circuit is 100,000 spectators plus 10,000 VIP guests, offering a good overview for the spectators from all positions, to enjoy a day at the races. The circuit celebrates its first year of existence with over 500,000 visitors, it is a big success.



In addition to the main race circuit the project includes; a karting track; international standard off road test and leisure facility; technology park/innovation centre; sports complex with treatment rooms, gym, pools, squash and multi purpose playing facilites; a retail park; conference facilities; leisure area including indoor and outdoor pools, state of the art spa and wellness centre, tennis courts, children's play areas, activity trails, golf driving range and access to golf courses, and the five star Radisson hotel.
