Cape Verde Development unveils 10 year master plan for Calheta Bay

Ernie Els and Nikki Beach sign up as development partners to create a 'Top Ten' world class luxury resort A major new €2 billion golf & leisure resort to be developed on a 425 hectare coastal site on Sal's west coast, 10 minutes from both the tourist town of Santa Maria and the International Airport. ‘Calhelta Bay', which is scheduled to launch across Europe in 2007, will have an eco-friendly design, magnificent ocean views from 70% of the site and a mixture of landscape, including sandy beaches and rocky coastline.

The resort will feature two Ernie Els 18 hole championship-standard golf courses and luxurious ‘Els Residences' which are being developed as a joint venture with the golfer. PGA Golf Management will also have a presence as the organisation is locating its national headquarters at the resort.
