There are extensive views of the valley encompassing Limnes, Nikithiano, Neapolis and toward Aghios Nikolaos- a 15-minute drive away. Neapoli, 3km away, is the nearest shopping town with a good range of shops and facilities as well as a delightful town square lined with cafes and shady trees. Several sandy beaches are within a 15-minute drive.
The international airport of Heraklion is a 50 minute drivefrom Houmeriako.
Agios Nikolaos is the capital of the county Lasithi and is located at the Mirabello Bay, north-east Crete, only 45 mins away from the international airport of Heraklion.
Geographically the town is well protected from strong winds allowing sea sports and swimming nearly all year round.
