The community is located in the belt of Bautzen and is known by many citizens of the district as a resting pool of the city of Bautzen. The city of Bautzen can be reached wonderfully on foot or by bicycle along the newly built footpath and cycle path. Goods for daily needs can be easily purchased in Doberschau; various service facilities such as a general practitioner, dentist, physiotherapist and kindergarten are also available. The sports centre with bowling alley is a great place for sporting activities and good food and drink.
