There has never been a better time to buy property in New York, claims one expert.

Ross Ellis of premier NYC real estate Agents Halstead believes that savvy investors should get into the market whilst the conditions are favourable: "Whether a buyer wants to purchase a second home in Manhattan or an investment apartment, it's a win-win situation.

"There's never been a better time for foreigners to pick up a bargain in one of America's most elite luxury real estate markets."

A recent BBC report claimed that New York was now a ‘honey pot for foreign property investors' due to the weakness of the dollar.

And Ivanka Trump, daughter of The Donald, was quoted in the report saying that, "People (from Europe) are buying at - effectively - a 40 to 50% discount relative to what a US buyer would be paying".
