However, the house is not isolated – a 10min walk will bring you to a local bar/restaurant which serves home cooked food as well as a small rural school and community centre.

It is rare to find such a beautiful location and the house matches the quality location – a fully renovated stone farmhouse with so much traditional charm and character but set up as a functioning home with rental business. In fact, the three separate rental cottages are perfect for accommodating guests – either friends and family or paying guests wanting to explore this stunning area.

In addition, there is a large studio space which can be used for any manner of hobbies – painting, yoga or as is currently the case, a music studio.

Living off-grid – the way forward for many but you don’t have to compromise comfort!

Whilst energy prices soar and the world is focused on our future sustainability, you can do your bit by buying this off-grid home. However, you don’t need to suffer as the house has all the fittings to make life comfortable year round.

The house is fitted with a wood burner that runs a central heating system and the house water comes from a well situated further up the mountain.

A set of six solar panels and three powerful lithium batteries and a 5000W converter supply electricity (220 v) with a Honda generator as back-up.

Water used in the house is from a water well which supplies three houses locally. There is a storage deposit with a capacity of 2,000litres however, the supply never runs dry.

In addition, an “alberca” in the valley below the house is available for irrigation and agricultural use.

Despite being off-grid, there is a need for connectivity and the house benefits from a good satellite Internet system delivering 15Mbps download speeds.

Also, when catering for guests, you need to consider waste – the house has a 3-chamber septic tank fitted which is capable of dealing with 20 users.

The layout of the property provides flexibility for future use…

The Location

This beautiful country home is located within the Natural Park and has some of the most amazing countryside around it. Unspoiled views, few neighbors and wildlife and nature on your doorstep.

However, the house is not isolated – a bar/restaurant is just a 10min walk and serves home cooked food all through the year and the community of neighbors meet regularly in the community center which is above the local rural school.

Whilst neighbors are very spread out, there is a real feeling of community in the area with many locals selling their home grown produce.

The village of Cazorla is a 45min drive and offers a huge range of local services. Cazorla is a beautiful village and has been nominated as Capital del turismo rural 2022 and is a popular destination for many international travelers as well as Spanish visitors.

Cazorla has a regular Blues Festival, Flamenco festival and the regular ferias and fiestas during the year attracting thousands of visitors and of course, with the Natural Park, people come from far and wide to see the unspoiled beauty of the area.

For shopping, there are plenty of options including a lively covered day market with lots of local produce, much of which is organic and from within a short radius. There are supermarkets, banks, a theater and restaurants and bars.

Further afield is the larger town of Ubeda, a very beautiful and historic town within one hour’s drive which has a Carrefour, Lidl, Aldi and many other services.

If you are looking to escape the stress and chaos of today’s world, this location will give you a better rhythm to life, a healthier lifestyle and a more balanced view as to what is important in life.

The house itself has been lovingly restored and offers a sustainable off-grid future but this doesn’t need to be uncomfortable. The main house and three guest houses provide flexibility and can accommodate friends, family or paying guests.

This is a delightful home and the location will enthrall you – if you would like to visit, we can introduce you to Angeline & Jan, the owners, who will be happy to show you around their slice of heaven.
